Mr. Coffee BVMC-KG6-001 Review

Have you looked at the market for coffee makers? There’s literally thousands of them to choose from. In fact, if it’s been awhile since you have purchased a coffee maker, you’re probably not going to be familiar with all of the fancy features. For instance, do you know about pod coffee makers? Basically, they’re single-serve coffee makers that take pods (you can buy the pods at the grocery store in the coffee aisle). To save you from having to do research, we’re going to introduce you to a good single-serve coffee maker that is powered by Keurig brewing technology – the Mr. Coffee BVMC-KG6-001 Single serve coffee brewer.

Looking at this coffee maker by Mr. Coffee (a brand we all know and trust), we discovered that it doesn’t have as many features as some of the other coffee makers available on the market, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad coffee maker by any means. In fact, this single serve coffee maker has many benefits nesting behind it.

Rich Flavor

Let’s talk flavor for a second. In terms of flavor, this coffee maker sure does beat those old-style drip coffee makers, no questions asked. With this machine, you’re going to get nothing but rich tasting coffee each and every time.

Water Reservoir

This machine has a 40-ounce water reservoir, so you can easily make it through your day without having to refill the water reservoir. When it does come time to refill the reservoir, you’re not going to have to sit there and hassle with it, because it’s easy to remove and refill.

Nice Design

Do you recall Mr. Coffee coffee makers back in the day? They had that “common” design that every other coffee maker on the market had. When you first look at this coffee maker, the design doesn’t even look like something Mr. Coffee would make. The sleek, modern design really does stand out from the crowd.

Simple

With this coffee maker, you don’t have to worry about there being a learning curve – it’s simple. When you have the brewing system set up, you’ll be on your way to drinking a rich cup of coffee within minutes. Inside, you’re going to find a quick-start guide with a user manual – it will take a couple of minutes to read, and then you’re all done.

Speaking in what’s inside the box, there’s also a pack of five K-Cups that you can use to get started. Before you brew your coffee, make sure you run the brewer a couple of times with plain water so that your coffee doesn’t have a plastic-taste to it (this is something you should do with every coffee machine).

No Filters

No filters can be a good thing. However, if you have hard water, you may want to use filtered or bottled water in the machine. Some reviewers have complained about scale building up inside of their machine and that is understandable with hard water. Scale build up can put a damper on the performance of any machine. If this is something you’re concerned with, just run some vinegar through the machine and that will help dissolve the mineral buildup.

Conclusion

Yes, there are a couple of things Mr. Coffee could have done differently with this coffee maker, but all in all, it is capable of brewing great-tasting coffee, which in our opinion, is the most important.
